So this is a not so happy post.
So my health has been not so great this year, I’ve been battling some serious back pain and sciatica.
So a quick update. I cut off all my hair 😄 Twice!
I am absolutely loving my short hair, it’s so nice and light!
Anyway, asides from the hair I’ve had a few updates since my last post! I will hopefully write a post for each as I’ve got ALOT of photo’s to share. Although I’m a busy girl obviously and although I’ve had a lot of time off recently it hasn’t been for fun unfortunately.
That’s all for another day and post.
Well, seeing as I have been out for 3 Saturdays in a row now I thought I’d reflect a little on this, as it is very unlike me to go out that much. More likely that I don’t get invited out much and a few birthdays and days off with friends just happened to coincide. I’m not complaining it has been a nice change for me to get out more and be a bit more social.
The hangover from Gary’s 30th was probably the most hungover I have ever been, so the past 2 nights out I didn’t go quiet so hard as quickly and the hangovers have been a breeze in comparison. Feeling like a REAL student all of a sudden. 😂
It was so lovely to see an old friend for the first time in a few years. Years do just seem to slip past the older and busier I get, feels like yesterday I was at 6th form with all my friends but in reality that was nearly 4 years ago now!
I am quite lucky though really as my friends are also a bit shit when it comes to meeting up and staying in contact. I’ve also found that most of the time when I do finally get around to seeing my friends it doesn’t matter if it’s been 4 years or 4 days since I saw them, it’s still like it always was.
I’m still the goofy self I was before although lots has changed in my lifestyle, environment and looks I’m still the same friend I was too all my close friends as some things never change. 😊
I thought I’d just end on a photo of me being vein and girly, again quiet rare for me to put that much into my appearance at this point in my life. But it is nice to look back at all the styles and looks I go through in a year let alone over a longer period of time, so this is for you future Mel to remember this look at 22.
My birthday weekend… in London!
This was a photo of Gary’s first ever tube journey which still amazes me that someone who used to live in Luton, which is maybe half an hour from London has never been into the city! So this trip was more to show him what he’s been missing and give him a taste of different places in this country. We just have the travel bug at the moment and we love visiting other countries as well as you’ve seen in previous posts and definitely in future posts!
I had such a good time and really did get spoilt by everyone. Having my birthday in December isn’t the best but I do always try to do something fun and special or encourage people to buy me good gifts like festival tickets or days out.
I am firmly in my twenties now and it’s weird as I still don’t feel like a real adult 😂
Maybe one day…
Where do I even start?!
Today I shared on Facebook a status from 1 year ago today about getting my offer from the University of Southampton. I guess this is a good day to share the experience so far.
So it has been a huge change and culture shock starting Uni at 21. Being poor isn’t a new thing for us so that hasn’t been a big difference but kicking my butt into gear has been a good and a tiring experience. As commuting for an hour and a half each time to uni is quiet tiring, but it will be worth it in the long run.
So studying this time is a lot different to college, it actually seems more relaxed but first year is generally pretty easy going. Although sometimes that seems hard to see in the long run! But as I’m writing this I’ve had 2 weeks actually off and will try to focus and get back on track in the next 2 weeks to work on the upcoming assignments and presentations.
So I will try and write a few posts which I will update over the next few weeks on the gap I’ve had from my blog as lots of exciting things have happened and lots to look forward to in 2017.
I thought I’d better post at least a photo of last year’s festival as that was where I left off on my last post.
Another ‘life is hectic’ update coming!
I will document some separate posts of just a few of the things which are going on at the moment. Although there is one over ruling, time sucking reason why I haven’t posted in a long time.
I am currently in Year 1 at the University of Southampton! I never thought I’d see the day where I’d be happy I’m at university and doing a degree that I love!
It has been 10 months since my last post which goes to show how crazy my life has been since my last update!
I did start college in September and today I handed the very last 2 assignments and is the first time in months that I have been stress free and it feels amazing!! For anyone considering an access to HE course, itis seriously full on and very life consuming, especially when trying to work alongside, but im finally free…. well until the 26th of September that is as that’ll be my very first day as an occupational therapist student at the University of Southampton!
How exciting! Now I get to spend the summer enjoying life again and continuing to work as a care assistant whilst looking forward to some exciting times. First on the list, Glastonbury 2016, I’m ready!!
