Feeling 22 ๐ŸŽถ

My birthday weekend… in London!

This was a photo of Gary’s first ever tube journey which still amazes me that someone who used to live in Luton, which is maybe half an hour from London has never been into the city! So this trip was more to show him what he’s been missing and give him a taste of different places in this country. We just have the travel bug at the moment and we love visiting other countries as well as you’ve seen in previous posts and definitely in future posts!

I had such a good time and really did get spoilt by everyone. Having my birthday in December isn’t the best but I do always try to do something fun and special or encourage people to buy me good gifts like festival tickets or days out.

I am firmly in my twenties now and it’s weird as I still don’t feel like a real adult ๐Ÿ˜‚

Maybe one day…

University – Year 1

Where do I even start?!

Today I shared on Facebook a status from 1 year ago today about getting my offer from the University of Southampton. I guess this is a good day to share the experience so far.

So it has been a huge change and culture shock starting Uni at 21. Being poor isn’t a new thing for us so that hasn’t been a big difference but kicking my butt into gear has been a good and a tiring experience. As commuting for an hour and a half each time to uni is quiet tiring, but it will be worth it in the long run.

So studying this time is a lot different to college, it actually seems more relaxed but first year is generally pretty easy going. Although sometimes that seems hard to see in the long run! But as I’m writing this I’ve had 2 weeks actually off and will try to focus and get back on track in the next 2 weeks to work on the upcoming assignments and presentations.

So I will try and write a few posts which I will update over the next few weeks on the gap I’ve had from my blog as lots of exciting things have happened and lots to look forward to in 2017.

Glastonbury 2016

I thought I’d better post at least a photo of last year’s festival as that was where I left off on my last post.

Another ‘life is hectic’ update coming!

I will document some separate posts of just a few of the things which are going on at the moment. Although there is one over ruling, time sucking reason why I haven’t posted in a long time.

I am currently in Year 1 at the University of Southampton! I never thought I’d see the day where I’d be happy I’m at university and doing a degree that I love!

It has been 10 months since my last post which goes to show how crazy my life has been since my last update!

I did start college in September and ย today I handed the very last 2 assignments and is the first time in months that I have been stress free and it feels amazing!! For anyone considering an access to HE course, itis seriously full on and very life consuming, especially when trying to work alongside, but im finally free…. well until the 26th of September that is as that’ll be my very first day as an occupational therapist student at the University of ย Southampton!

How exciting! Now I get to spend the summer enjoying life again and continuing to work as a care assistant whilst looking forward to some exciting times. First on the list, Glastonbury 2016, I’m ready!!

Summer Update

So I thought it was time I got back into blogging!
I am finally out of my rough patch and back in track, with a bundle of happiness and enjoying some summer time which I didn’t think would happen!

I am currently on week 2 of not having work, spending some quality time with my fiancรฉ & puppy. Which has been just the boost I needed!

So I am waiting to start my new job at a residential home and going back to college starting September. Career in Occupational Therapy, here I come! (Hopefully)!!

I am so excited! ๐Ÿ˜

Also, my nieces and nephews and family are all coming to visit, so yes there will be lots of pictures, cute babies and lots of broodiness ๐Ÿ’•

Glastonbury 2015

My first year at Glastonbury as a litter picker and 2nd time at the festival and it was incredible. Our shifts were 6am – 12pm on the pyramid stage, which wasn’t so tricky after all. We actually were really lucky to finish early each day and not have as much litter as the previous years. Yes, you could see the grass/mud!
It was still hard through the shift and backs were still aching after the entire weekend, and getting into a real bed felt amazing! I really enjoyed the whole experience, the music and entertainment was great, obviously some where better than others and not all were to my taste. But I still loved every minute of it, and I got to spend it with my mum on her birthday! ๐Ÿ’•

My favourite acts were of course, Paloma Faith and George Ezra. Lionel Richie was definitely one of the highlights too, its so refreshing to see an artist have the time of his life, whilst performing to the biggest and loudest crowd of the entire weekend!! (Even if all the Americans can’t pronounce Glast-on-berry lol)

Blogging Blues…

Recently I just haven’t had the motivation or time to write on my blog. It’s been a hectic few weeks to say the least and it just feels as if I haven’t stopped.
I have just started a new job, working for a charity and its not living up to expectations. I feel as if what I was sold by, isn’t happening or looking as if it will be a positive experience. Everyone who works here is lovely and its nice to be in an environment with people my own age that I get along with. They’re not happy with the job, which makes it harder for me to enjoy it as well.
Maybe time to find something different? Or figure out my life plan for the future…. I hope so!
To end on a high note though, Glastonbury Festival is soon and that will definitely boost my overall mood and happiness!!
